THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE FOR INDONESIAN STUDIES (AIFIS) FELLOWSHIPS

Requirements: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or an Indonesian citizen. They must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree (post-doc) or be pursuing a Ph.D. or equivalent professional degree (pre-doc). Doctoral candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements with the exception of the dissertation.
Description: AIFIS invites applications from American and Indonesian scholars who wish to conduct research across the field of contemporary and traditional Indonesian studies.

CFA – HARVARD KENNEDY SCHOOL’S INDONESIA RESEARCH FELLOWS

Requirements: Fellows must be fluent in both written and spoken English. All fellows will be expected to participate in research seminars, produce a 10-page written paper summarizing their research (ideally published before completion of the research fellowship period), and make at least two presentations (one in the Cambridge area and at least one in Indonesia) about their research.
Description: Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) Indonesia Program invites Indonesian researchers, academics, and practitioners to apply for the Indonesia Research Fellowship in order to pursue independent research projects at the Ash Center. Research Fellowships may be focused on individual research or institutional development.

GRANT FOR INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS AND PUBLICATIONS

Requirements: The head of the research team and at least one additional member must have a PhD. A maximum of 3 Indonesians may be on the research team. The research proposal must be written in English. The head researcher must be proficient in spoken and written English. The head researcher’s university must have an active, existing partnership with a reputable foreign institution (MOUs between individual researchers will not be permitted).
Description:  Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti), Ministry of National Education, Indonesia provides funding grants to assist Indonesian professors to conduct joint research with faculty from foreign universities.

SCHEME PROGRAM FOR ACADEMIC MOBILITY AND EXCHANGE (SAME)

Requirements: This program aims to give lecturers the chance to travel abroad to give special presentations on art and cultural issues, to forge networks of cooperation such a double degree programs with overseas institutions, to host Indonesian language programs, and to conduct research in partnership with foreign universities. SAME programs may last from two weeks to three months and should be conducted between August and October 2013.
